Solis Solar Inverters — Reliable Value Across the Midlands

Solis (manufactured by Ginlong, China) is one of the world's top-five inverter brands by volume — and for good reason. Reliable, well-priced, available in single-phase 1-6kW and three-phase 3-15kW, with a 5-year warranty extendable to 20.

Single-phase 1-6kW and three-phase 3-15kW residential range
Best value-per-kW of major inverter brands
5-year warranty included, extendable to 20 years
WiFi monitoring with Solis Cloud app
IP65 rated — indoor or outdoor wall mount

Solis is our most-installed string inverter brand across the Midlands — for new installs where the customer wants reliable quality without paying a brand premium, and for inverter replacements on systems where the original Solis is being upgraded to a hybrid model.

The S5-GR1P range (single-phase residential) covers 1kW to 6kW in 0.5kW increments. The S5-GR3P range (three-phase) covers 3kW to 15kW. The Solis Hybrid range adds battery compatibility, supporting BYD and Pylontech batteries among others.

Reliability data is strong — Solis has held a Tier-1 reliability rating from PV Evolution Labs for multiple consecutive years. Our own field data across 500+ Solis installs in the Midlands shows lifetime failure rate of under 2% over 5 years, in line with the brand's published figures.

Where we don't recommend Solis: if you want the absolute slickest app experience, Fox-ESS edges it. If you want US-style production warranties, Enphase microinverters offer 25-year coverage. But for most domestic Midlands installs, Solis is the sensible default.
