When you need solar panels removed
Common scenarios in the Midlands: (1) roof re-tile after 30+ years on Victorian and Edwardian properties, (2) emergency repairs after storm damage, (3) loft insulation upgrades requiring rafter access, (4) loft conversions and dormers, (5) chimney removal or repair, (6) solar system relocation (moving house — yes, panels can come with you if your warranty allows and the new roof suits).
How the lift-and-refit works
Day 1: We safely de-energise the system (DC and AC isolation), remove panels and mounting rails, label each panel, transport to our Tamworth depot for storage. Roof works happen in between (1-30 days typical). Day 2: We re-fit mounting rails and panels (or new mounting if old rails were damaged), re-commission the system, issue updated MCS certificate. Most domestic jobs are £1,800-£3,200 for the full lift-and-refit.
Insurance claims
Storm damage, fallen tree branches, vehicle impact — we work directly with home insurers on the solar element of a roof claim. We provide written quotes that match insurance assessor formats, and we handle direct billing where the insurer accepts it.
