When solar panels need cleaning
Most domestic Midlands systems benefit from cleaning every 24-36 months. Sooner if: you're near agricultural land (pollen, dust), under deciduous trees (sap, leaves), in built-up suburbs (vehicle exhaust deposits), or have a low roof pitch (less rain washing). Commercial systems on flat roofs need cleaning every 12-18 months — flat roofs don't self-clean.
Why pure water?
Deionised water dissolves dirt without leaving any residue when it dries. Tap water contains calcium, magnesium and chloride that leave white watermarks on glass — visible from the ground and a real performance drag. We pre-filter all water through a reverse-osmosis unit on the van. The water-fed pole reaches up to 20m from ground level, meaning no scaffolding and no roof access for most domestic and many commercial jobs.
Generation lift after cleaning
Typical performance lift on a well-soiled Midlands system: 5-10% on suburban panels, 10-15% on agricultural-adjacent or tree-shaded sites, 15-25% on heavily-soiled systems (rare). We pull your monitoring data before and after to quantify the lift in your written report.
