Solar Panel Grants for Leicester Homeowners in 2026

Leicester homeowners have access to a number of government and locally administered funding schemes that can reduce or eliminate the upfront cost of solar panel installation. The key schemes in 2026 are ECO4, the Warm Homes Plan, and 0% VAT — with additional local funding periodically available through Leicester City Council.

ECO4 in Leicester

ECO4 is the government's flagship energy efficiency scheme, funded through energy supplier obligations. Leicester households receiving qualifying benefits and living in a home with an EPC rating of D or below may qualify for a fully or heavily subsidised solar panel installation.
